Process
Research & Discovery: Explored the landscape of Islamic apps and productivity extensions, analyzing user habits and interviewing peers to understand how faith-based content could integrate naturally into daily browsing.
Concept Development: Sketched multiple concepts that balanced spirituality and usability, experimenting with ways to present Seerah, Sunnah, and reflective prompts without overwhelming the user.
Execution: Defined a calming dark blue gradient to mimic the night sky, paired with glowing gold highlights to symbolize light and guidance. Designed a clean, serif wordmark with a glowing moon accent to reinforce the brand identity.
Product Build: Prototyped and developed a Chrome extension that transforms the new tab experience with Seerah stories, Sunnah reminders, a centered glowing search bar, and interactive quizzes, combining inspiration with functionality.
Version Control & Collaboration: Learned and applied GitHub workflows to manage the project from start to finish, using Git commands such as git clone, git commit, git push, and git pull to track changes, document progress, and keep the project organized. This was my first time fully integrating GitHub into a personal build, giving me hands on experience with version control and professional coding practices.

Outcome
The launch of NoorTab reshaped the ordinary act of opening a new tab into a meaningful daily ritual. Feedback consistently praised the calming night-sky design, the glowing moon branding, and the way Sunnah reminders added value without feeling intrusive. Beyond aesthetics, NoorTab demonstrated how thoughtful design can merge faith, productivity, and inspiration, creating a digital space that feels purposeful. The project also laid a scalable foundation for future features such as prayer times, daily duʿāʾ prompts, and tasbeeh tracking, positioning NoorTab not just as a tool, but as a growing platform for reflection and spiritual connection.
