Process
Product Strategy: Identified UTD students as the primary audience and defined goals around financial literacy, budget tracking, and simple money management. Outlined core features like expense tracking, savings goals, and reminders.
Design Execution: Created a clean, approachable interface with a palette of fresh greens and blues to reflect growth and stability. Designed intuitive dashboards, charts, and playful icons to make financial data less intimidating.
Development Build: Prototyped and implemented key features such as transaction input, budget categories, and progress visualizations. Ensured usability by testing flows and refining based on student feedback.
Testing & Optimization: Gathered feedback from peers, iterated on UX pain points, and improved onboarding and reminders. Adjusted design elements and interactions to make BudgetBuddy feel both functional and student-friendly.

Outcome
The project resulted in a fully functional prototype that made budgeting simple and approachable for students. BudgetBuddy allowed me to explore how design and technology can simplify financial literacy for students. The project strengthened my skills in UI/UX design, prototyping, and front end development, while also giving me experience presenting at a UXathon competition. More than just a prototype, BudgetBuddy became proof of how I can take an idea from research to execution, blending problem-solving, design thinking, and coding into a cohesive solution.
